Is anyone going to this? http://inosanto.com/
I thought it was in July, and was going to try to make it then, but no way for this year.
Anyone who attends please post pictures, and accounts of your thoughts of the event. Kali, (Inosanto) JKD (Inosanto), BJJ (JJ Machado), Wing Chun (Fong) and Muy Thai (Sirsute sp?). Seems like a helluva great way to spend 4 days.

It sounds like a great camp! They are all great guys and teachers. I've known Dan Inosanto since 1964. He's been both a friend and a teacher.

I attended Legends 2005 when I was just getting back into the martial arts.

My recollections:
-It is an 8:00 am to 8:00 pm training day. Be prepared for a fast paced day. Bring snacks to keep your energy up. I think it was an hour lunch break. And 2 hours per class.

-I enjoyed listening to Guro Dan's words of wisdom and experience.

-Everyone will have the chance to grapple with Jean Jacques Machado. I was too new with grappling to appreciate it but wow.

-I could not comprehend Sifu Fong's ability to use Chi and some of his techniques wherein he would touch people on a certain part of their body and they would fall. In my mind I was a non believer, until I jumped up and ask he try it on me. I was falling left and right to everyone's amusement. I can't explain it, my legs just went weak and caved in.

-Muay thai, I had a background but what stood out for me was his teaching of the "Hop Kick foot work" when kicking with the rear leg(and can be done with the front leg). I now look at that as another way of stepping forward, initiating momentum, adjusting footwork, breaking rhythm(intentional telegraphing), as a motion for punching from a raised leg block, etc... and I think of it as very pretty and part of the style.
Ajarn Chai is fast and he will let you test your speed against him. I liked his method.
BTW, after a tiring day of training, the last class is Muay Thai.

-A lot of things went over my head as I was just starting out. I would buy their books and DVDs as prep for the seminars and as review material after the event.

I wish I could do it again.

Guro Dan has something in Stockton Aug 1-2 which I hope to make.
