I remember the little mountain lad that used to follow Bert Poe and me around. He's a big mountain lad now and a great JKD teacher.

Soon I will be doing more filming. I am just about ready to be off for the summer and I also plan on filming some of my summer workshop to go on DVD, or download, for those who don't live close enough to get to attend. The most highly requested videos from me are the punching and kicking mechanics instruction, so that will probably be some of the first released. The footage so far is REALLY good and I am really pleased with how it looks.

Books....well....I don't know....I am undecided at this point.

Thanks for asking.

PS: My first name is Brent, with an "n" instead of "Brett".

I remember it like it was yesterday! I am very fortunate to have grown up at Vic's camp. I remain thankful every day. I know I had to have bugged the crap out of everybody and they were probably thinking "Why is this teenager asking so many questions about how to do this stuff?" But...I am glad I did follow you guys around, bugging you! AND I do think that taking it that seriously as a kid, has really helped develop it in my adult stage of JKD. AND I am still Learning, which is the beautiful thing.

Thanks, Sifu, for teaching me then and now. I am lucky and I am glad that I have the abilities to maybe help some others actually LEARN and DO JKD.

This Summer Workshop is going to be a really good one. I am excited about it.

I may be able to put some examples of combinations on that DVD, since I still need to film footage for it. Just to give people some ideas to help cultivate it.

Sorry about the name mistake!!

It would be good if you could make a dvd on the mechanics of jkd kicking and punching, there are some good dvd's about, but rare. Tim makes good stuff.

I would like to see in depth mechanics on kicking and how footwork goes together.

Thanks:-P

You are not the first one to have made the same mistake with the name. I also like in-depth instruction. When I teach, I like to try to give my students depth in the areas of body mechanics and footwork. I believe that there is great value in being able to move well and to hit hard. Those two things often take the longest to develop...so it may explain why we don't see many who can do both.

keep up the good work and I hope to see you at a seminar sometime.

The workshop is starting next week. It looks like there will be a variety of students there and it is a very nestalgic location at the former home of the Great Smoky Mtn Martial Arts Camp. Home of Vic Payne where the names of legends are inscribed in concrete. Sort of a mountain Martial Arts version of Hollywood Blvd's Walk of Fame!

Going to be a blast!!!
