Wednesday Night Camp 2010

Once a year members of the JKD Wednesday Night Group unite at one location for three whole days of training and sharing of ideas. With its emphasis in preserving and promoting Bruce Lee’s art of Jeet Kune Do the training is intense and unequal to any other. With instructors and students from around the globe it is definitely the place to advance your knowledge of Bruce Lee's art and train with some of the world's most renowned martial artists.

The 2010 camp will be held in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida and it is being hosted by Sifu Richie Carrion, founder of JKD Extreme Martial Arts Academy. If you would like more information or would like to train at the camp please contact us promptly at

jkdextreme@lycos.com

Unfortunately the time has expired to get the discounted rate in which we had available for the participants. If you would like to still book a room at the hotel below is the info.

Camp Hotel:

West Palm Beach FL. Holiday Inn

561-659-3880

Instructors:

ü The camp is going to be taught by the Wednesday Night Group Board Members.

ü This is to insure that the WNG Curriculum will be taught and communicated to the participants as designed.

ü If you have not been asked to teach or are not a board member at this time it does not mean that we do not value your expertise. It simply means that at this point in this organizations infancy we are not ready at this time. (Much to do)

ü The WNGs professionalism and dedication to having on the best organization and events is second to none!

ü We are confident that we will absolutely deliver the kind of excellence you will soon come to expect for many years to come.

Camp Fee’s:

ü Many people have asked if they have to pay for the camp (List Reason’s here)

ü These camps are self funded for our enjoyment. It is a chance to meet up with old friends learn a make new friends and shoot the shit and learn from some of the most talented martial artists anywhere from the instructors to the students all have something to offer. It would be great if it didn’t cost a thing. But we know that just isn’t the case from the rooms, food, airfare, entertainment to the time and effort put in by the organizers it does cost something and in the end no money will be made by anyone at best we hope to just pay the bill.

Thanks and we hope to see you at the camp

Thank you to Jim Mccann for this write up.

P.S.
I Value all of the Instructors that are on this board as well as other Instructors with knowledge in the Martial Arts but to make this work we must stick to what is set up to have a GREAT UPCOMMING SEMINAR.

I promise this will be achieved.
Again Thank You

when i first started training it was in boxing, in the left lead. then came kickboxing also in the left lead. then came jkd in the right lead. the problem is i feel like i have 2 different leads. and although the jkd on the right lead is much faster. my immediate reaction when sparring is to go left lead, and when in close, go right lead. i feel that i have a good balance between the 2. but i dont feel that i have the right balance. any comments or suggestions are welcome. thanks..

Check out the below link for information on an upcoming seminar from JKD instructor, Dane Junod! He will be teaching at ur school on September 11th and 12th.

http://www.progressivemartialarts.co.uk/events.html

Check out these testimonials:

Jeet Kune Do is a very practical and logical martial art; you don't waste time with moves or techniques that would not be effective in a real life combat situation. This is why I chose to study Jeet Kune Do. It's a simple yet effective fighting style. And I believe Premier JKD is one of the top Jeet Kune Do schools in the nation.

Sifu Dane from Premier JKD definitely has all the knowledge and ability of a world class martial artist, and his teaching style is very effective. Before coming to Premier JKD I went to another Jeet Kune Do School in the area and was very impressed. But before deciding to join with the other school I also went in for an introductory lesson with Sifu Dane. Right away I could tell this was the school for me. At Premier JKD we went over some of the drills we did in the other school but we went over them with much more detail. And Sifu Dane explained how the drills and techniques are applicable in real life situations. At the other school, the instructors were just going through the motions.

If you are taking Jeet Kune Do for self defense or to stay fit and healthy, Premier JKD is a great school. But if you really want to be the best martial artist you can be, Premier JKD is the only school. Sifu Dane is probably one of the few instructors in California that can put you on the path to be the best. I can't imagine a better martial arts school than Premier JKD.

Bob Nishiyama

Dane Junod is not only an excellent martial artist, but he is one of the most passionate I have ever met. He is a patient teacher who is kind to his students and pushes them to excel. I have had the pleasure of working with Dane on many occasions and am continually impressed by his knowledge, accuracy, and skill. I would recommend him to anyone who is serious about the art of JKD.

When pushing off with the rear foot during the lead straight, where is the focal point of the push off? Is it the ball of the foot or is it the raised heel?

I get the best results if I focus as much weight as possible on top of the raised heel. When pushing off, I would propel my body weight forward with the heel like a catapult. The ball of the foot acts more like a hinge. Is this a correct interpretation?
